Del Centro S.A. de C.V., is a 100% Mexican company, dedicated to the fishing and processing of sardine and
tuna among other produce for almost 100 years.
Starting its history in San Quintin, coastal municipality in Ensenada Baja California with the Calmex brand, which has its origin in the fusion of California and Mexico, placing the first canned brand and product in preserved tuna in Mexico.
Nowadays, CALMEX is positioned in the Mexican market as the leading brand in the production and marketing of sardines nationwide, with an over 700 thousand tons production per year.
It has a second plant of sea and ground products located in Yavaros port, Sonora, considered one of the most modern seafood processing plants in Mexico.
In 2018’s first semester, the Yavaros Plant obtained the FSSC 22000 certification, thanks to the strict international hygiene and quality controls that rules its entire process, from obtaining the raw material to transforming it into foods with high consumption value, under the brand CALMEX / YAVAROS.
Calmex is an FDA certified brand that complies with all official regulations for its commercialization, sale and consumption in the United States.
Today, Calmex has innovative options to make the consumption of sardines more versstiles, not only a tomato sauce, but also Veracruzana and Portuguese style, for
the benefit of nutrition and ease in the preparation
